Could AS Roma win the Scudetto this season?

As a Roma fan, I am a little worried by the progress the team has made until now in the transfer saga. As you all know, Roma hasn't signed any significant player until the moment. So far, they only bought Riise from Liverpool and Loria from Siena. The both of them are defenders!

On the other side, all Scudetto contenders for this season, let's say Inter Milan, AC Milan, Juventus, and Fiorentina keep making their squad more solid and strong. Inter Milan with Mancini and Muntari signing, AC Milan with Ronaldinho, Juventus with Amauri and Poulsen and Fiorentina with Gilardino and Zauri (loan).

Those players are just some of the players they have signed.

The latest news is Fiorentina has strengthened their squad by signed Almiron from Juventus on a loan deal.

All those transfers make life harder for AS Roma next season. Totti, AS Roma's captain, said that Roma need at least two other big signings. And this statement is acceptable based on the current Roma squad that is similar to last season, but minus Giuly and Mancini that will, for sure, reduce their midfield strength.

On the positive side, Roma has secured some of their potential players, such as De Rossi, Brighi, and Vucinic. They also reported already have an agreement with Aquilani contract extension that will be signed in few days.

They, of course, have some players as their transfer target such as Julio Baptista (the closest target), Silva, Malouda, and even Eto'o. But until the moment, they haven't made any significant offer for those players.

This lack of transfers on Roma's side made a question in my head. Could AS Roma win the Scudetto this season?
