The fear is that Nexus member Skip Sheffield suffered a broken ankle at a WWE event over the weekend in Hawaii and that he could be missing a lot of time as a result. Last night's Raw was taped in Los Angeles last week following Summerslam, so they were safe for that show.
It remains to be seen if an angle will be run on next week's 900th episode of Raw in Boston to explain why he won't be used on a regular basis (that is of course assuming the injury is as bad as it is being reported among the wrestling media).
Believe it or not, The Figure Four Weekly Newsletter is reporting that there has already been talk in WWE of killing the Nexus angle by October.
Well, Nexus looked to be so strong a couple of weeks ago, but now it looks like Nexus could be history after the 900th episode of RAW. Wrestling fans are going to be disappointed that the angle will be cut short due to a member's injury because Nexus had the potential to be one of the biggest heel stables of the decade. It looks like that they will be cut loose soon.
I would say that maybe four members or so could be safe with jobs in the WWE while the rest will either be sent back to FCW to be repackaged or released. If the WWE tries to use season two rookies of NXT to join Nexus, then it may save the angle. I, however, do not see that happening.
