U.S. Open Tennis 2010: Power Ranking the Sport's 25 Hottest WAGs

The U.S Open begins next week, and there promises to be plenty of action on the courts.

But I really hope these tennis players aren’t too exhausted because they’ve been playing a lot of mixed doubles, off the courts that is.  

I’m not sure what it is about these guys, but it seems like Isaac Newton had another theory that remained undiscovered until now: hot women gravitate toward tennis players.

Seriously, watch the U.S. Open this year. I don’t care if it’s Rafael Nadal versus Roger Federer in an epic match. Don’t pay attention to what’s going on between the two sweaty men hitting balls back and forth.

Take a look at the women sitting in the stands watching those men, and you’ll realize you made a mistake very early in life.

25. Nicole Vaidisova – Radek Stepanek

Nicole Vaidisova is actually a former professional tennis player herself, but she retired earlier this year….at age 20.

Once deemed “the next Maria Sharapova,” she is a two-time Grand Slam semifinalist and was once ranked No. 7 in the world.

I’d say throwing in the towel at such a young age probably had more to do with her No. 176 world ranking at the time, but maybe she’d rather play house than play tennis.

24. Kim Sears – Andy Murray

Kim Sears, the daughter of famed tennis coach Nigel Sears, once called it quits with Andy Murray because he spent more time with his PS3 than he did with her.

It doesn’t matter how fun Madden or Grand Theft Auto is, Mr. Murray. There are no excuses for that.

23. Maria Kirilenko – Igor Andreev

Maria Kirilenko and Igor Andreev are not only dating, they’re also mixed doubles partners.

 At practice, the two like to play against each other to see who wears the pants in the relationship. I’m not sure who wins, but I’m positive about one thing.

In a match to determine the better looking half of this tennis couple, Kirilenko wins in straight sets.

22. Camilla Belle – Fernando Verdasco

Camilla Belle recently dated one of the Jonas’ brothers -- I have absolutely no idea which one, nor do I care – but the couple called it quits after the Jonas brother refused to take off his purity ring.

Seeing that she was now available, I immediately began to pursue her, but she spurned my advances.

So one day when she was babysitting at a secluded house on a lake, I decided to call the house and win her over whether she liked it or not. The entire series of events is captured on film, and features 87 minutes of Belle running around while looking hot.

21. Jenni Mostrom – Robin Soderling

Jenni Mostrom played golf and did some modeling work while majoring in business in college.

She likes sports, Italian food, Lil Wayne and cats.

I’m a dog person. We can work on that.

20. Dasha Zhukova – Marat Safin

After doing a bit of research, I discovered that Dasha Zhukova is a socialite and daughter of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.

At first glance, she seems like the Russian version of Paris Hilton, but she apparently owns an art gallery and is the editor of a magazine.

Reports show that unlike most socialites I’m familiar with, Zhukova actually has talent.

19. Nolwenn Leroy – Arnaud Clement

Nolwenn Leroy is a French singer whose music was studied for its neurological impact in geriatric populations. In layman’s terms, that means her music was studied for its effects on the brains of sick elderly patients.

The results of the study showed that Leroy was one of two musicians, the other being Mozart (Yeah, that Mozart), whose music had a significant neurological effect.

It’s called “the Nolwenn Effect.”

I don’t have any neurological problems, but I’m still feeling the effect. 

18. Jennifer Esposito – Mark Philippousis

Jennifer Esposito is an actress who has starred in films like I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and Crash.

She is also the ex-wife of actor Bradley Cooper of The Hangover and Wedding Crashers.

Cooper has a thing for appearing in movies that center around weddings, but it’s unclear if he will show up at the wedding of Esposito and Mark Philippousis, who are currently engaged.

17. Camille Neviere – Marcos Baghdatis

At the ripe age of 18, Camille Neviere was introduced to Marco Baghdatis by her stepfather, Guillaume Payre.

Well, who wouldn’t introduce their hot, barely legal stepdaughter to a professional athlete? Don’t worry. Payre is Baghdatis’ coach,

When he wasn’t helping Baghdatis with his tennis play, he was helping Baghdatis, um, play with his stepdaughter, I guess.

16. Maria Francesca Perello – Rafael Nadal

Not much is known about Maria Francesca Perello, except that she likes to be called “Xisca.”

Why? I have no idea. But she generally keeps a low profile, rarely appearing at Nadal’s matches or even in public with the Spanish superstar.

Most of the pictures I could find of “Xisca” involve her in a bikini on the beach though. I’m OK with that.

15. Jelena Ristic – Novak Djokovic

I’ve read some conflicting reports as to Novak Djokovic’s relationship with Jelena Ristic. Some sites claim he’s been linked to Maria Sharapova while others claim he’s dated a lovely young lady we’ll see later on this list.

I googled her and couldn’t find any information on what she does, but in about 80 percent of the pictures I found of her, she’s clapping.

She looks pretty good doing it, too.

14. Bridgette Wilson – Pete Sampras

Bridgette Wilson is a former Miss Teen USA and an actress who has appeared in shows like Saved by the Bell.

But I will personally remember Wilson for her role in one of my all-time favorite films, Billy Madison.

I think Chris Farley said it best. “That Veronica Vaughn is one piece of ace.”

13. Mandy Moore – Andy Roddick

Mandy Moore has dated plenty of celebrities, including Wilmer Valderrama – yes, I’m serious – and Zach Braff of Scrubs.

The singer/actress with the undeniable “girl next door” appeal then moved on to Roddick. When they were dating, he reached the No. 1 world ranking, which I can’t help but think isn’t a coincidence.

They broke up in 2004, and Roddick’s tennis career hasn’t been the same to say the least.

But you’ll see later that he is doing pretty well for himself otherwise.

12. Biljana Sesevic – Janko Tipsarevic

I’ve never heard of Janko Tipsarevic, and I’d be willing to bet that about 90 percent of the people reading this have no idea who he is either.

But he is known as “the famous seducer.”

I guess that explains this marriage.

11. Carolina Cerezuela – Carlos Moya

Carolina Cerezuela is a Spanish television actress, whose Wikipedia page was in Spanish.

I’ve taken about four years of Spanish classes, but I have no idea what it said.

My guess is that she is one of the reasons I always watch those Spanish soap operas when nothing else is on, even though I can’t understand a word.

10. Bec Cartwright – Lleyton Hewitt

Unless you are a fan of Australian soap operas, you’ve probably never heard of Bec Cartwright.

The only thing you should know about her is that Lleyton Hewitt proposed to Cartwright just six weeks after meeting her.

Ordinarily, I would think any guy who does that is crazy. Hewitt is the exception to that rule.

9. Stacey Gardner – Mardy Fish

I’m considering getting in trouble with the law so that Stacey Gardner can represent me.

Yes, Gardner has a law degree and passed the Bar Exam in 2005. I have no idea if she ever actually used it, but I’m willing to bet she’d be able to get anyone to testify in favor of her clients.

Gardner is also a former briefcase holder on Deal or No Deal.

Deal.

8. Selita Ebanks – James Blake

Guys, if you want to score with a hottie like Selita Ebanks, it might help to be named the Sexiest Man Alive.

That’s what James Blake did, and this Victoria’s Secret Angel was his reward.

And the crazy thing is, she isn’t even Blake’s hottest triumph.

7. Suncica Travica – Viktor Troicki

Suncica Travica is a Serbian model, but I can hardly find any pictures of her outside of her bedroom or bathroom.

I would personally like to thank whoever invented the webcam because without it, I wouldn’t be able to share these wonderful pictures with the world.

6. Fabiana Semprebom – Guillermo Canas

I have never heard of Guillermo Canas, but apparently he dates this chick, Fabiana Semprebom.

She is a Brazilian model who was discovered as a teenager when doing what women do best, shopping.

Semprebom is now represented by something like seven modeling agencies, and is a Victoria’s secret model. Thankfully, I think we’ll be seeing more of her.

5. Siobhan Parekh – Mark Philippousis

The caption under the picture might be the most appropriate caption I’ve ever read, but I came up with my own.

Siobhan Parekh: Australian for hot.

4. Sara Foster – Tommy Haas

Sara Foster is an actress whose biggest roles came in The Big Bounce and in the 90210 series remake.

She is engaged and expecting a child with Tommy Haas, whose biggest role came as the fiancé of this hot actress.

Actually, Haas was ranked as high as No. 2 in 2002, but I think we can all agree that the biggest victory of his career was getting Foster to agree to marry him.

3. Leryn Franco – Novak Djokovic

Leryn Franco considers herself an athlete first and foremost.

But the Paraguayan javelin thrower finished 51^st in the 2008 Olympics, so I’d recommend sticking with her other career: modeling.

Franco was the runner-up Miss Universo Paraguayo in 2006, participated in the Miss Bikini Universe pageant and was No. 86 in AskMen.com’s 2009 “Top 99 Women” poll.

I’d really like to see those 85 women who finished ahead of her.

2. Jennifer Scholle – James Blake

In 2004, James Blake broke his neck during practice, a scary incident that nearly paralyzed the tennis star.

But in every bad situation, there is usually some good. In Blake’s case, the good was this woman, Jennifer Scholle.

Scholle would have been the hottest WAG on this list, if it weren’t for the No. 1 WAG in tennis history.

1. Brooklyn Decker – Andy Roddick

2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model, Victoria’s Secret model and Esquire magazine’s “Sexiest Woman Alive,” Brooklyn Decker also goes by another name: Mrs. Andy Roddick.

Decker is the ultimate proof that you never have to live up to your potential on the court to exceed it off the court.

I think I speak for all men when I say that we hate you, Andy. We really, really hate you.
