Last seasons Premier League and FA Cup "Double" winners Chelsea brushed aside yet another team in formidable style. Roberto Martinez watched in horror his side were hammered 6-0 by the Blues in a one-sided match.

Chelsea's pre-season poor form had encouraged many critics and jealous fans of rival clubs to brush aside the ageing Pensioners this season. They had argued that the West London outfit would be unable to defend their title. But Ancelotti had kept his faith on his ageing Blues' squad and the Pensioners' proved him right again.

It is becoming a sort of style for Chelsea. They cruised past newly-promoted West Bromwich Albion 6-0 in the season-day opener and continued their streak by humiliating Wigan at DW Stadium again. Last season they had lost to Wigan 3-1 at the same stadium and today it looked the players were looking to avenge their defeat which they did and in style.

Many had predicted that Chelsea would struggle this season due to their ageing team and lack of new signings. But the team has quashed any such doubts. Chelsea's defense looks fragile at times but yet they are one of the best in the Premier League. The Blues' defense has not conceded in the past seven hours of Premier League football which proves their quality.Bosingwa's return to action within two-three weeks should provide further motivation to the Stamford Bridge outfit.

With Ramires likely to be involved in action from next week the Blues' are set to only get stronger by the day.Kalou also looks to have kept intact his previous seasons' form as he scored two goals coming of late in the match. New signing Yossi Benayoun also scored his first Chelsea goal after taking the field in the dying minutes of the match.

The West Londoner's French striker Anelka too looked to have found his form as he went ahead and scored two goals in quick succession. Overall the squad is in good form and although they are yet to face any formidable opponents they have sent out a message to all other teams in the Premier League.

The Blues' fans will be hoping for more of such action in the coming few weeks and these may only be the trailer of the whole season's entertainment that Ancelotti's men are preparing to give their fans.
