Little League World Series: On Big Stage, Toms River Keeps Having Fun
Growing up as a kid, I was always taught to have fun while playing baseball. It’s true for any sport, but particularly baseball. If you can’t have fun, you should not be playing. Baseball, and sports in general, should be fun for everyone involved.
Of course, winning makes that easier.
Toms River National has done plenty of that this season. They bring a 21-3 record to Williamsport, PA this week as they will be competing as the Mid-Atlantic team in the Little League World Series.
For many young kids, the pressure can be too much. Not this group!
This team has faced elimination 10 times this season. Talk about pressure. There is no situation more pressure packed than when you are staring into the eyes of elimination.
It’s been win or go home.
They continue to come out on the winning end.
“We don’t let the pressure bother us,” said shortstop Patrick Marinaccio.
Whether it was a big hit, a double play, a diving catch, or a strikeout, Toms River National has gotten the job done.
