Montreal Canadiens: Five Dumb Moves By Management

As a Habs fan I sometime get frustrated  with the decisions that the team management makes.

This lists my list of the five dumbest moves made by the Montreal Canadiens management.  Feel free to comment and add your own list.

 

 

  • Former GM Rejean Houle hiring Mario Tremblay as head coach and Yvan Cournoyer as his assistant when neither had any previous coaching experience.
  • Former GM Rejean Houle trading Patrick Roy in return of Andre Kovalenko, Martin Rucinsky and Jocelyn Thibault.
  • During the 1980 draft Montreal chose Doug Wickenheiser instead of Denis Savard in the 1st round.
  • Sometimes waiting decades to retire players numbers.
  • Trading Jaroslav Halak to the St.Louis Blues in return of Lars Eller and  Ian Schultz
