£3 Million for Manchester United's Darren Fletcher: A Bargain!
As with the rest of you football fans out there, I've been watching closely as the wheeling and dealing of the transfer window moves into overdrive.
Something though, just doesn't seem right.
Manchester United's Darren Fletcher is being linked with a £3 million move to David Moyes' Everton. A bargain in today's football climate, right?
Compare that to Arsenal wanting £10 million for unconvincing centre back, Philippe Senderos. In fact, the gunners want £7 million plus one of the leagues best keepers, Shay Given, if the Swiss international is to be seen on Tyneside.
Is someone being ripped off? I say yes.
Newcastle United would need Given to mop up the £10 million mistake.
Younes Kaboul's first term in England has left him unproven I'd say. So a £7 million valuation is a joke right?
So we have two unsung defenders for a whopping £17 million or a quality keeper and one of the leagues hardest working performers for £6 million. Which sounds better to you?
You know what I think!
Football business has gone mad!
As for Fletcher, I don't think it matters whether he stays or goes. He's still young with a bright future ahead of him.
He's guaranteed to be involved at United and with Scotland Captain Barry Ferguson out injured, he's likely to assume a starring role for his beloved country come the World Cup Qualifiers in September.
A move to Everton would give him a regular starting spot in a fairly good side, but they won't be winning the league or UEFA Champions League anytime soon, will they?
