When will West Virginia University get the respect it deserves?  Well, the truth is as long as they are in the Big East they won't.  West Virginia's elite football team (not Marshall) has done everything they could except win a MNC to show they belong with the big dogs.

Year in and year out WVU competes with upper class schools, whether it be in the regular season or a bowl game.  This year they play at LSU, last year it was Auburn and Colorado.  In the upcoming years they will be in the presence of Michigan St. and FSU.  Every time they are forced to play a "Goliath" school they end up prevailing.  Fiesta Bowl against #3 Oklahoma, WVU won by 20 against the team that had the "best defense" at the time.  Sugar Bowl against Georgia in Atlanta, Georgia WVU wins by 3 after dominating early and never losing the lead.  What is it going to take to make the country realize that they can and will compete.

Once football season is coming to a close basketball season is begininng, and once again WVU does what they do best and prevail.  A team that is never picked to win their conference, or make it past the first round.  WVU's run to the final four should not of caught anyone by surprise, they did win the Big East Tournament and as down as the football portion of it may be, the basketball side is elite.  WVU knocked off Kentucky as we all know, in a sense they beat an NBA team with as many guys as they had drafted.  But only the state of West Virginia chose them to win the game.  The basketball team has athletes and a great coach who is bringing in great recruiting classes. All of the other schools in the country keep overlooking the Mountaineers, time will tell that you should always count them in.
