St. John's Lose Out On Star Senior Guard Davontay Grace

Keith BennettCorrespondent IAugust 18, 2010

Rising senior guard Davontay Grace verbally committed to Manhattan College on tuesday. Grace originally chose St. John's during his sophomore season in 2009 but re-opened things when Steve Lavin was hired in the spring. Thomas Jefferson coach Lawrence "Bud" Pollard said Grace initially committed to Red Strom last year, But that fell apart when coach Norm Roberts was fired. Grace is a bulldog of a point guard who is tough yo keep out of the lane when he wants to get to the basket. He has a stocky build but is physical and strong. The perfect point guard for Steve Lavin to build his system with. Davontay Grace pick Manhattan College to play with Joel "Air Jamaica" Wright, who verbally committed to Manhattan early this season.
