It just wouldn't be football without cheerleaders. And with college football season right around the corner, it's time to have a little fun and rank the cheerleaders of the ACC.

Keep in mind that these are real girls and regardless of school pride, let's keep it civil and polite. After all, a lot of these schools are in the South, so let's act like gentlemen (and ladies—I haven't forgotten you) in the comments.

There's something to be said about being able to be excited at a Boston College football game. Am I right?

No. 11: Wake Forest

There's something classy about the cheerleaders from Wake, and there's something to be said for that. Kudos.

There's nothing cuter than a girl with a sense of humor. And from the looks of things, Maryland has that going on with their cheerleaders.

Being sassy is a very sexy quality. It toes the line between touchable and untouchable. I'm a fan.

Athleticism is always sexy. And as you can see, NC State's girls are athletes.

No. 8: Virginia

Would you expect anything less than grace and dignity from the school founded by Thomas Jefferson?

Throw in the intelligence that comes with being a Cavalier, and you've got a sexy combination.

Southern charm is synonymous with Charlottesville, Va. It's a town that's easy to fall in love with.

No. 7: Duke

OK, it works with brunettes too.

No. 3: Florida State

Florida State always had a bit of an edge about it. And while classy works, so does an edgy feel.

I like how with an edge, comes a down-home southern girl feel. It's a great blend.

No. 2: Clemson

Okay, I'll admit it. I'm a sucker for blondes—and Clemson's has a great selection of them.
