St. John's will open its season Nov. 16 during a 24-hour live college basketball marathon on ESPN. St. John's will begin with a game at St. Mary's (Calif), one of 12 games ESPN will televise in a 24-hour marathon. The game tips off at 2 a.m. New York time on Nov. 16. The Gaels were 28-6 last season. New St. john coach Steve Lavin was an ESPN analyst the last seven years. This is a great start off for Lavin and the Red Storm, to be on the big stage to open the season.
