New Training Camp, Same Old Detroit Lions

As much as it hurts to me say this…(deep breath)...I am a Lions fan. And let me tell you, it feels great to say that out loud.

But as a Lions fan the season doesn't start until after the Pro Bowl. The main stage, or the Detroiters' Super Bowl is the NFL draft, where opportunity turns its ugly head and spits on the hopes and dreams of closet Lions fans.

I was born in 1987 and do not fully remember when the Lions were in the playoffs and have since been changing my "favorite team" annually.

For all of you who do not have the honor of watching this travisty we call an NFL organization let me share a typical Lions season:

The kitties start off each year with a few wins against mediocre teams, so as to build up hope—only to strip it away by finishing the season with at least a six-game losing streak.

Every series of every game is run-run-pass-punt.

This upcoming year is especially saddening, and it hasn't even started yet.  Lions fans around the metro Detroit area are talking about the running back from South Florida more than they are about the first round bomb on the O-Line.  The FIRE MILLEN chant has been heard at Tigers, Red Wings, and Pistons games across the country.

For all of the Lions fans our there, let me just say: I hope beer stays cheaper than gas, because you're going to be going through alcoholic beverages from now until December.
