Didier Drogba To Commit Future To Chelsea
Didier Drogba is set to finally end speculation about his future by signing a new four-year contract with Chelsea.
The Ivory Coast striker has been reported to have grown unhappy at Stamford Bridge, but it appears he is ready to commit himself to the club. Luiz Felipe Scolari admitted he was anxious to hold onto Drogba and will be relieved that a deal between the player and the club has been agreed.
Rumors have surfaced recently that Drogba’s deciding factor in signing a new deal were down to the pay rise he will be receiving from his new contract. But Drogba has quickly moved to squash the false accusations
"Chelsea want to speak and I am open to talk," he said. "Things have not changed but I am a Blues player. Money is not the main factor and if Chelsea show they want me it is possible to accept a proposition."
Drogba has been linked to a move to Inter Milan and Barcelona over the summer, but instead he will once again be leading Chelsea’s front line in their pursuit of silverware. Frank Lampard is also set to stay at Chelsea for another year, despite former coach and Inter Milan manager Jose Mourinho’s eagerness to sign the Chelsea midfielder.
