Luis Castillo Still Feels He Can Play Everyday

According to Dan Martin of the  New York Post, Luis Castillo still feels he can play everyday:

I can’t be here anymore, I know I’m not going to be here next year. I know I can play every day. I’m not a bench player. I can still play.”

Castillo signed a 4yr/$25 million dollar contract in the 2007 off-season and other than 2009 (.302 AVG) he has been an utter

disappointment.  He has been replaced by rookie Ruben Tejada as the teams everyday second baseman who was re-called from AAA Buffalo last week in Philadelphia (August 6th), in which Castillo told Martin:
