As if Vince Dooley's son coaching at Tennessee was not ironic enough, the former Florida associate athletic director has been named Georgia's new AD. While this has not been completely confirmed, there is very strong evidence that this is true.
McGraity, who graduated from UGA, sent this on July 16th to the vice president of human resources at UGA.
“I have been fortunate to work alongside the very best in collegiate athletics at two outstanding institutions, the University of Georgia and the University of Florida, over the last three decades,” McGarity wrote. “I know what it takes to lead and direct an athletic program at the highest level, and am ready to lead the University of Georgia Athletic Association into the future.”
McGraity grew up in Athens where he started his career in Georgia's athletic department, serving as administrative assistant, women's tennis coach, assistant sports information director, and assistant athletic director. McGraity left for Florida in August of 1992.
