Cubs Can't Muster Any Offense Against Pirates
After sweeping the Milwaukee Brewers, the Cubs returned home yesterday to face the Pittsburgh Pirates.
While the offense looked terrific in Milwaukee the Cubs couldn't muster any offensive support for starter Jason Marquis in a 3-0 loss to the Pirates.
Marquis lasted six innings giving up all three runs on just eight hits.
The loss snapped the Cubs five game winning streak and trimmed their lead in the division to only four games.
The Cubs will look to get back in the win column when Ted Lilly (10-6) takes the mound against Paul Maholm.
