Milledge Leaves Little Lasting Impression on Mets

IconLastings Milledge, a doghouse-dweller under manager Willie Randolph, is no longer a problem or a pawn in Queens.

Milledge was dealt to the Washington Nationals for C Brian Schneider and OF Ryan Church on Friday, in a precursor to baseball's winter meetings.

Mets GM Omar Minaya, who held the same post with the Nationals when they were the Montreal Expos, has a 360-degree interest in the deal. Omar knows that the 22-year-old Milledge is years away from polishing his act for the big stage, so he went for quantity over quality.

We agree. Good job, Omar.

And by the way: Mike and the Mad Dog don't understand Met fans...
