True Suns Fans Know KJ Is The Best Suns Point Guard

I've read plenty of message boards and people on Yahoo Answers stating that Steve Nash has been the best point guard in the history of the Phoenix Suns. I'm going to have to disagree on that.

In fact, there have been two other point guards to play for the Suns over the past few years that are still active on different teams now that could be considered, but don't have the necessary longevity of playing for the Suns—Stephon Marbury and Jason Kidd.

Just like Nash, they got to the playoffs, but didn't do much in them. Neither Nash, Kidd, or Marbury have led the Suns to the Finals.

So, who is the best point guard to play on the Phoenix Suns? That belongs to Kevin Johnson. He is everything that Nash isn't. He plays defense, he can score, he's athletic, he could shoot, he could distribute the ball, and he got the Suns to the NBA Finals with Charles Barkley and Dan Majerle against the Chicago Bulls.

Johnson only had three years averaging under double figures in points. Steve Nash has gone four years without averaging double figures. Career highs in turnovers per game in a season? Nash was at 3.8, while Kevin Johnson was at 4.0.

Their career highs in assist per game over one season was 11.6 assists per game for Nash, and 12.2 assists per game for Johnson.

how would even compare nash to marbury who is uncommitted to anything and say that he still got the suns to the playoffs. he got them their as an 8th seed while nash got them there as a first seed and led them to the western conference finals. now i know you are just a plan hater of nash and i advice you to go get a life and actually think first before you even compare kidd or kevin johnson nash is and will forever be the greatest suns pointguard ever.

Nash will always be the one remembered for what exactly? His flashy passing and getting nowhere in the playoffs.

The 92-93 Suns Team was my favorite of all time, KJ was awesome, and Nash is an awful one on one defender. Those things considered, there is still no way you make a convincing argument that he was better than Nash. First of all (and maybe this is all I need to say), KJ had two things Nash has never had an absolute beast in every respect as a running mate - Barkley. And, more importantly, the West was not near as strong as it has been during Nash's run. Nash has had great teammates but all flawed - Marion is a great complimentary player but could easily be termed a playoff choker, and Amare is a prodigy on offense but his D is no better than Nash's. Additionally, that Suns squad that made it to the Finals did not have any freak injuries or bogus suspensions to deal with. Finally, "I don't care who you are" two MVP awards have to say something about a player's value. Nash kept the NBA alive during arguably one of the League's darkest periods ever - when his teams played people actually wanted to watch an NBA game! Give the guy his rightful place in line, a.k.a. First in the line of best Suns point guards of all time.
