ARCA Driver Patrick Sheltra Uninjured in Non-Racing Automobile Accident

ARCA Racing Series driver Patrick Sheltra was involved in a motor vehicle accident Tuesday near Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada. Sheltra was uninjured and left the scene under his own power.

Terry Jones, a part-time ARCA driver for Jones Group International was a passenger, but also wasn’t injured.

“Patrick and Terry are fine,” said Chris Knight, Director of Public Communications for Sheltra Motorsports. “Patrick is sore from the impact but is in otherwise great spirits. In no way is today’s incident expected to keep him from competing in Sunday afternoon’s ARCA race from New Jersey Motorsports Park.”

So far this season, Sheltra sits fifth in points with six top fives and a series-best 10 top 10 finishes in 12 races so far this season.

Sheltra looks to score his first win of the year this weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park in the Garden State ARCA 150 presented by American Red Cross. Sheltra’s best finish at NJMP was seventh, which came last year after starting eighth.
