Martin O'Neill has just resigned as manager of Aston Villa. He said that he would assist the club in the near future.

As an Aston Villa supporter I am absolutely disgusted. I have no doubt that this has to do with the rumours that Villa could sell Ashley Young and James Milner. Even though these would be two huge losses for the club, I think this is a very rash decision.

With the Premier League starting in just five days, this will come as a huge blow to all Villa fans.

I just hope that this won't effect their form. I would also hope that Villa are able to bring in another manager of O'Neill's calibre.
