Lou Williams, Sixers Agree on Deal: Three Down, One to Go
The Sixers went into this offseason with four main objectives:
1. Get a low-post power forward, preferably Elton Brand. Check.
2. Re-sign restricted free agent Andre Iguodala. Any day now.
3. Re-sign restricted free agent Lou Williams. Check
4. Sign one or more outside shooters at a low price (Ivey and Rush). Check.
The latest objective is the announcement that the Sixers and Lou Williams have agreed on a five-year contract. Terms have not been released.
Recently it had been rumored that the Cleveland Cavaliers would make Williams an offer. But before that happened the Sixers got down to business and inked the 22-year-old guard. This is just one more piece of an exciting puzzle the Sixers are putting together.
Look for Iguodala to be signed soon, probably in the neighborhood of six-years at $72 million, which the Bobcats recently gave to Emeka Okafor.
