The Edmonton Oilers have introduced goaltender Martin Gerber's NHL comeback. The team announced his signing with the Alberta club on Friday to add to their deep pool of goalies. After Gerber's two-way deal, the team also hold the contract of Nikolai Khabibulin, Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers, and Devan Dubnyk signed for the 2010-2011 season.

I personally expect a trade or two by Steve Tambellini to resolve the goalie logjam. The Oilers had experience couple years back having Garon, Roloson and Deslauriers with the team. Now it is best to wait and see what Tambellini has in store.

Martin Gerber is definitely a serviceable goalie by NHL standards. Apart from being peppered by shots in Toronto, he has done well in the past, including a Stanley Cup ring. Give training camp a hard look, when Taylor Hall stays away from the focus of attention, and we will see if Gerber finds a spot in the Edmonton Oilers, or gets demoted to the minors.
