After Antoine Vermette's phenomenal season, he signed a $5.25 million, two-year contract extension with the Senators.

Last season, the Quebec-born Canadian earned nearly $1.1 million.

The young skilled player had his career highs in goals and points last season. He notched 24 goals and 53 points, played in 81 games, and maintained a 56.7 percent faceoff win rate.

The 26-year-old's first hat-trick came last season on April 3, 2008, as the Sens romped the Toronto Maple Leafs 8-2.

In 297 career games with Ottawa, Vermette has 71 goals and 139 points.
