The other day I posted an article about 275 pound Alex Daniels getting some reps at fullback.  It is something I'd love to see.  A lot of fans that replied said that they would like to see a 275 pound fullback while others said he was only getting reps because we are currently thin at the position.  Now it looks like a "JUMBO" set might actually be something the Raiders will do.

Today it was reported by Jerry McDonald from ContraCostaTimes.com and InsideBayArea.com that rookie DE Lamarr Houston was getting snaps as the short yardage/goal line running back.  He was a standout runningback in H.S. but kind of grew out of the position.  I can't see anybody stopping Houston from getting a yard.

Here's what Head Coach Tom Cable had to say about Houston at RB, "We might do some of that around the goal line, in short yardage situations, things like that.  We did some of that in minicamp, OTA, right from the get go with him.  He's had some history there."

The Raiders once had one of the most successful short yardage running games in the NFL when Zack Crockett was the ball carrier.  That "14 blast" play was almost unstoppable and the defense knew it was coming.  Jon Ritchie would lead the way for Crockett and Greg Papa would yell, "touchdown Raiderrrrrs."

We might be on the verge of having a smash mouth short yardage attack that can't be stopped.  We can line up the 275 pound Alex Daniels at fullback with 305 pound Lamarr Houston ready to smash through what ever is in his way.  Who is going to stop that?

Lookout for the Raiders' "JUMBO" package this year!  I can't wait to see it!
