Hate Him Or Love Him, Peyton Manning Is That Good

If you are a Colts fan, you love him.  If you are a Patriots fan, you hate him.  If you are a Chargers fan, you used to laugh at him, not anymore.  Believe it or not there are people out there who absolutely hate the Colts quarterback.  I am one of these people.  I hate to hear the word Peyton.  My husband, brother-in-law, and son are all die hard Colts fans and think Peyton is the greatest thing to ever don football cleats.  I am surprised my brother-in-law isn’t naming his first child after him.  In case you are wondering, I am a New England fan.  I am also a long time 49ers fan.  More importantly I am a football fan.  As much as I despise Mr. Manning, I know he really doesn’t suck as much as I tell people sometimes, okay most of the time.

There is no one that is better in the pocket than Peyton Manning.  He can stand there and take all day to throw the ball, even when his line isn’t good he finds a way to fake defenders out to buy time.  It is like he doesn’t even realize there are 300 lb men trying to kill him.  He can’t run, so he has to stay there.

Not even Tom Brady can break apart a defense quite like Peyton.  Brady is good, but Manning really is like a field general.  It is actually amazing to watch.  As much as I hate the Colts and especially Manning, I love to watch them play.  I can not remember another quarterback that I have watched being that good at making the right decision most of the time.

Manning has absolute leadership of the Colts.  It is well known who the team leader is.  He acts like a leader.  He doesn’t go to bars on college campuses.  He doesn’t hold out over contract disputes.  He never criticizes anyone.

He makes the funniest commercials of any NFL or other sports related person out there.  They are always comical.  If you haven’t heard him sing with Kenny Chesney, you are missing a treat.

Just because I do not like him, does not mean I don’t respect him.  That is something people sometimes forget about.  I wouldn’t trade Brady for Manning but I do have to respect the things Manning has done in his career.  If you don’t have some level of respect for someone like Manning, you are not a true football fan.  You may like a team but you are not a football fan.

Do I think Brady is better?  Of course I do and to prove it all I have to say is “Brady has 3”!

Tell me who your biggest rival is that begrudgingly and whether you admit it to anyone else; you do have respect for.
