Here we are in the 19th week of the Fantasy Baseball season, and the injury bug is finally beginning to take its toll on squads around the country. Who is getting hurt? Are there any viable replacements? Let’s see who we have in store this week.
Starting Pitcher to Start
Usually, the only lefty grabbing attention in the Minnesota Twins’ rotation is Francisco Liriano. Not anymore. Recently, southpaw Brian Duensing has been lighting up opposing lineups, and the crazy part is that he’s only getting better. The converted starting pitcher has been dazzling this season, posting a 4-1 record, 1.83 ERA and 32 Ks as both a starter and reliever. As a starter alone, the youngster is 1-0 with six runs allowed over 17 IP with eight Ks. Not bad for a guy no one knew about two weeks ago.
Duensing will be coming off a two-start week in Week 18, so be sure to have him ready to go in Week 19. All indications point to him staying in the starting rotation, and if he can stay consistent, then we are looking at a young gun that could quickly help your fantasy squad come playoff time...
