Are the Mets the mystery team to claim Adam Dunn on waivers?

The Mets need a new outfielder and some new spark in the lineup. The identity of the club is not known. Dunn is batting .277/.365/.578 with a league-best 28 home runs and 71 RBIs.

Dunn will be a free agent after this season. He is due to earn $4 million over the remainder of this season. It maybe difficult for the Nationals to get what they deem to be fair value in a one-on-one negotiation.

The Nats' were unable to reach an agreement last month, when it was possible to talk with 29 other clubs. This move will save the Mets season and Minaya's job.

Dunn will make the Mets lineup look pretty dangerous.

The Mets have been trying to get Dunn for years. I could not think of a no better time!
