It’s that time of the year again, Brett Favre is debating whether to call it a career or keep playing. At this point Brett Favre says that he is “undecided” on the situation.

There were reports that Favre sent messages to his teammates about calling it quits, reports later proven untrue. Favre has said that if his ankle is in good shape then he will indeed play next season with the Vikings.

Favre had a good season last year with the Minnesota Vikings, taking them all the way to the NFC Championship game where they would end up losing to the soon to be NFL Champions, the New Orleans Saints. An interception from Favre would allow the Saints to capitalize and win the game.

I, like most fans, will not believe that Favre has truly called it a career until I see the Minnesota Vikings starting another QB.

Speaking of the Vikings, reports say that the Vikings have offered Favre a one year deal to play in Minnesota. Favre would be making $16 million guaranteed with potentially $4 million more.

Favre has had quite the career in the NFL and holds numerous NFL records. Records like:

  • Most Pass Completions, Career, 6,083, Brett Favre, 1991-Present
  • Most Seasons 300 Completions, 18, Brett Favre 1992-Current
  • Most Consecutive Games, Pass Completions, 287, Brett Favre 1992-Current
  • Most Seasons 3000+ Yards 18, Brett Favre 1992-Present
  • Most Consecutive Seasons 3000+ Yards 18, Brett Favre 1992-Present
  • Most seasons led league 4, last by Brett Favre, 1995-1997, 2003
  • Most Passing Touchdowns, Career 497, Brett Favre, 1991-Present

Those are just some of the records held by Favre. Brett Favre holds a total of 28 NFL Passing Records.

It’s going to be a bittersweet day when Brett Favre retires, at least to me it will be. A part wants him to retire, another part wants to see him throwing that ball for games to come.

Either way, he has to retire one day and whether it’s this season or the next that day is coming.
