JTG Daugherty racing announced the hiring of Bobby Labonte as the driver for the No. 47 car. He will replace Marcos Ambrose in 2011.

This is a great move by Brad Daugherty; he gets a 2000 cup champion with 21 cup wins who is well liked by the fans. It’s a can’t lose situation for JTG Racing.

These days, when multiple car teams seem to be the only road to success, the Labonte -Daugherty combination may be the story of the 2011 season.

It’s my understanding the Michael Waltrip Racing-JTG Daugherty technical partnership will continue into the 2011 season. This should give Labonte a very good car—actually, this could be the best car and support he’s had in years.

Marcos Ambrose has done well with this car, but I would venture to say Bobby’s experience and talent may get him to the checkered flag in 2011.

Just saying!

I’ve always thought this guy just needed a better car. Don’t be surprised if you see No. 47 as an "up front" regular next season.

Folks, we all mostly agree this series needs one feel good story to get those seats filled, and I’m not just talking about the seats at the track. Those couches and easy chairs in the living rooms of NASCAR fans also need to get some use.

Do you know what I’m saying?

Bobby Labonte could be the feel good story of the 2011 season and I truly hope it is. The fans needs one, NASCAR needs one, and most of all the race broadcasters ESPN, Speed Channel, and Fox need something new to talk about.

Can we agree on this?

I hope so.

As always, this is just a fans opinion and from what I understand everybody has one and I thank God for that.

Enough said.
