Brett Favre, Jenn Sterger, and the Top Athlete-Chasing Publicity Hounds
What do you get when you cross two publicity seekers doing what they do best?
You get the Jenn Sterger-Brett Favre story.
According to CBS News, while working as a sideline reporter with the NY Jets, Sterger told Deadspin.com that Favre would send graphic pictures of himself to her cellphone.
She also reported that he was umm, handling his own business in one of the pictures while wearing a pair of crocs.
I'm not sure which part of that statement is the most disturbing.
The interesting thing about this young lady is that she is being accused of doing exactly what Favre does: staying in the news.
Here's a list of the 10 best athlete chasing headliners...
10. Rachel Uchitel
She is known for her Tiger Woods situation, but did you know that she's also rumored to have had dalliances with Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter?
And to make sure that she didn't get cheated out of her full 15 minutes, she hired celebrity attorney Gloria Allred.
For what, you ask?
Not sure...
9. Khloe Kardashian
For those who don't know her, she's the the tall one on the right.
(For some reason when you Google, "Khloe Kardashian sexy bikini," they always throw in Kourtney as a bonus)
Anyway, Khloe is low on the list because she kept her training wheels on for her first athlete, (Rashad McCants) before catching the big fish in Lamar Odom.
The family seems really upset at Kourtney for staying with her cheating, broke boyfriend when there are perfectly good millionaire athletes out there.
Maybe next reality season!
8. Jamie Jungers
Jamie is another one who is low on the list because of lack of achievement. After being with Tiger, all she got out of it was a couple of interviews.
Tiger wouldn't pay her rent, she hasn't found another jock (and by that I mean athlete), and the sand is running out of her fame hourglass.
She should call one of the ladies higher on the list.
7. Joslyn James
Joslyn gets props for squeezing every drop out of her fame. And she was also the biggest thorn in Tiger Woods' side.
The woman grabbed Gloria Allred, opened up websites to show off Eldrick's texts, and starred in a porn dedicated to Woods called "The 11th hole".
I either have to brush up on my adult entertainment or my golf because I have no idea what that means.
6. Anna Benson
Remember dear old Anna.
She was taking all of the press away from her husband Kris when he pitched for the Mets.
She even threatened to sleep with the whole team if her man ever cheated.
I miss Anna.
5. Kendra Wilkinson
Before following in the footsteps of greats like Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton, Kendra was just a sports-loving gal who happened to show up nude at Hugh Hefner's house with paint on, and next thing you know she was a star.
Along the way came the rumors that she dated San Diego Charger Shawne Merriman, and then she later married Hank Baskett of the Colts.
She even sat next to Kim at the big game to compare notes.
I kid, I kid.
4. Vida Guerra
Vida was discovered by posing as an amateur in a Lad Mag. I think it was FHM. One look at the tush and she was a star!
Then came some rumored quality time with Derek Jeter, (of course!), and Jeremy Shockey took her out on the town a couple times. Now she is a household name.
Sort of.
3. Kim Kardashian
Now we are getting to the pros.
We know about Kim and Reggie Bush and now about Miles Austin.
We know about the tape and the TV show and the millions she makes every year pushing products.
What I want to know is how?
How did she get so big off of well...forget it.
2. Amber Rose
This young lady went from dancing at gentlemen's clubs to being on every red carpet with Kanye West.
She parlayed that into a modeling career. Then Kanye heard rumors of her jumping around a bit and broke up with her.
She was said to be really upset about the break-up, until she heard Kim was done with Reggie Bush.
Check the tabloids to see what happened next.
1. Jenn Sterger
As far as sports go, Jenn has to be number one.
She has parlayed wearing tight clothes in the stands to jobs with actual pro teams and now has aligned herself with the biggest name in all athlete publicity.
Plus extra points for the Brent Musburger quote from when she was at that FSU game:
"15,000 young red-blooded American men just signed up to go to Florida State next semester."
