According to widespread reports this morning, Arsene Wenger is readying a bid in the region of £8million for goalkeeper Joe Hart.

The English keeper has stated, earlier this week, that he would like to go out on loan to play regular football. Sunderland has already made an enquiry to sign the keeper on loan but it seems Arsenal are keen for his services on a permanent basis.

Manchester City has to trim their squad and Wenger is looking to take advantage of this. Despite Almunia's performances in the Emirates Cup, the manager has not cleared who will be number 1 at Arsenal this coming season.

Joe Hart is seen by many Gunners fan as an ideal replacement for Almunia. His performances at Birmingham last season were consistent, earning him a place on the plane to the World Cup.

Wenger turned his attention to Hart after failing to land Mark Schwarzer.  Mark Hughes, the new Fulham boss, has confirmed that his goalkeeper will stay. Should Hart sign for Arsenal, it would be the end for Almunia and Fabianski.

Kenny Sampson is keen for Arsenal to sign Joe Hart, he sees him as the perfect keeper for Arsenal.
