Who will be the winner of the AFC East is always based of many different factors. Which team has the most talent, which team has the most enthusiasm, who can work together and work well. The Patriots have not 1 or 2 reasons why they could be this years winners, but 10!
Check-out how and why they could take the Jets, Dolphins and Bills out of the championship. With new players coming, and old players leaving the Patriots had much to accommodate to. However, they did a fascinating job working with obstacles and turning them into positive actions.
10. Linebackers-- The Most Important Part of a Bill Belichick Team
In this team the linebackers have the fast plays and the flexible moves. This year, with Jerod Mayo, Gary Guyton, Derrick Burgess, Pierre Woods, and Tully Banta-Cain all finding their place in the complex Pats defensive system, Belichick may have his best linebacking crew since the glory days of Vrabel, McGinest, Bruschi, and Johnson.
9. Who is the Competition?
When it comes to the AFC East, the Patriots don't have much of a competition. As much as the Dolphins and the Bills would like to defeat the Pats this year, due to many factors such as lack of team chemistry and the fact that the Patriots have some of the best players in the league, it will make it extremely hard for the Bills and the Dolphins to defeat them this year.
8. Potential for Turmoil in the Jets Locker Room
By bringing in potentially divisive players such as Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards, and Ladanian Tomlinson, and with their best player Darrelle Revis already holding out in hopes of the biggest corner-back contract in the league, the Jets already seem on the brink of over-hyped expectations and an epic collapse.
7. We All Love a Good Coach
By taking over both coordinator roles, Belichick, a guaranteed hall of fame coach, will be exerting his influence over the Patriots more strongly than ever this year, and most definitely will guide them to victory.
6. New Sense of Locker Room Leadership
With Vince Wilfork signed to a huge new contract and looking to define his role as a locker room leader, and younger players looking to fill the roles of the old greats such as Bruschi and Rodney Harrison, the missed veteran presences may start to be compensated for.
5. Strong Rookie Class
Patriots drafted extremely well this year. Devin McCourty providing spark on Special Teams and secondary, plus Aaron Hernandez as a potentially exciting tight end. Don't forget, Brandon Spikes who is providing some competition to Gary Gutyon for the role of starting middle linebacker.
4. What Injuries?
Wes Welker recovered much faster than expected from his injury. This season the Pats offense most likely will be back at full strength, and the addition of Tory Hold should help.
3. The Moss Contract
Randy Moss claims he won’t return, and this will be his last season. Therefore, he will be playing for the respect of all his fans. We are sure he won't let them down.
2. Players Step-Up
The defensive second and third year players will be coming into their own. This includes Jerod Mayo, Brandon Merriweather, Pat Chung, possibly Brandon Tate, and Julian Edelman. This will be a huge impact on the team as a whole.
1. Brady is Back
Last year was his first season back after his injury. This year he is a whole season removed from his it (similar to Peyton Manning) and everyone knows that he is ready to pass, play and win. It takes one year to fully recover, and that time has come now.
