At the start of the 2009-10 the newly 'born' Real Madrid were expected to become champions of Spain and Europe. Those dream were shattered when they were put out of the spanish cup early by a second division team, out in quater finals of champions league by Lyon and finished second in La Liga.

Other dissappointments were signings Karim Benzema and Kaka both cost Madrid about £80m but their season perrformance didn't match their price tag.

Karim Bnezema has been linked with Man United on loan for the season but manager Jose Mourinho has put full confidence in Benzema to do well and prove his worth after not being picked for the French world cup squad.

Back at Lyon Benzema was dubbed the new Zidane after scoring over twenty goals in one season when he was twenty years old.

If Benzema gets the support he needs the I think he can have a great season.
