Why Your Favorite Superstars Aren't Getting The Push They "Deserve"

Every day I see one article, comment, rant, et cetera on why "so and so" isn't getting pushed.  It's whiny, it's annoying, and we both know that the chances of a WWE official seeing your comment is next to zilch.

"Matt Hardy should be in the main event." "Christian for world heavy weight champion!" "John Cena sucks!" "The Miz is awesome!"

I hear these kinds of comments daily, and they drive me absolutely nuts.

You see, on any given episode of RAW or Smackdown! there's a series of segments and matches that build up to the main event.  The main event involves two or three people at most!  The rest of the card involves about 10 wrestlers or personnel.  If you look up and down the smackdown roster, these are the wrestlers that people have complained needed a push:

Chavo Guerrero, Christian, Drew Mcyntire, Kofi Kingston, Matt Hardy, and MVP.

If we were to promote ALL these guys to the main event scenes.  Then this is what we have for the mid-card:

Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes, Curt Hawkins, JTG, Shad, Trent Barreta, Caylen Croft, Vance Archer, Tyler Reks, and Chris Masters.

Half of those guys don't even compete on a daily basis.

Do you really want to see Cody Rhodes vs. JTG? Or Dolph Ziggler vs. Chris Masters? Or how about Vance Archer and Curt Hawkins vs. Trent Barreta and Caylen Croft?  These don't sound like real mid-card matches to me.

Now how about this:

Matt Hardy vs Christian; Drew Mcyntire vs Kofi Kingston; MVP vs Chavo Guerrero. All these matches sound loads better.

Most Smackdowns involve two matches with upper-card guys like Hardy and Kingston, one mid card match, which involves Rhodes, Barreta, and JTG, one divas match, and then the main event.

If you stuff three or four more wrestlers in the main event, then it loses credibility to Swagger, Big Show, CM Punk, Mysterio, Kane, et cetera.

Sure Christian has worked hard for a title shot, but to promote somebody you have to demote somebody, too.

Kane? No he's the world heavyweight champion and has the main storyline.

Mysterio? Forget it, he's  what fuels McMahon's money empire.

CM Punk? No way, he's Smackdown's number one heel.

Swagger? probably not as he's getting the biggest push of his life.

While I may be disappointed that my man, MVP, isn't getting involved in the world championship picture, I do understand that his place now is the upper-card where he can push over Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes, et cetera.

I can easily do a quick overview of the RAW roster, too.  Here's the people everybody whines and complains should get a push:

The Miz, John Morrison, Evan Bourne, Wad Barret, and maybe Ted Dibiase.

Ok, here are the main eventers:

HHH, Randy Orton, John Cena, Chris Jericho, Edge, and Sheamus.

Yes, the Miz is main eventing a little now, but for the life of me I would never put Evan Bourne in instead of Jericho, or put Dibiase in for Edge.  It just doesn't work.  Edge vs. Orton sounds good, Dibiase vs. Orton sounds kind of awkward.  John Cena vs. Chris Jericho sounds good; Evan Bourne vs. Jericho—not so much.

Everybody has their place in the WWE.  The young superstars will have their time when they will be consistent main eventers.  But for now, they will have to work their way up just like the rest of the main eventers did.

Don't even mention to me that Sheamus didn't work his way up, because I know.

Thanks for reading.
