No other trade deadline in all of professional sports has as much anticipation and receives as much coverage as baseball's famous July 31 date.
For an entire month, websites and TV stations cover the rumors fruitfully. Some actually come through, such as Oswalt to the Phillies, and some fall right through the bottom, such as Dunn to the White Sox.
Now that the date has passed us, some teams have upgraded significantly, and others are the losers of the deadline. While this won't cover the winners nor the losers (I'm looking at you, Cincinnati!), it will discuss which trades were the best values and will impact the stretch.
We don't know how each one will pan out, but each of these trades looks good at the beginning of August at least.
