The Rangers have officially acquired veteran center Todd White from Atlanta, in exchange for Donald Brashear and Patrick Rissmiller.

In a way, this trade makes a lot of sense and helps the Rangers greatly. The Rangers get rid of unwanted players (Brashear and Rissmiller), while bringing in a gritty veteran center with a bit of a scoring touch (he scored 22 goals and 71 points two seasons ago).

This trade is also pretty fair to the salary cap. Both Brashear and Rissmiller combined for over $3 million against the cap, and now they are both gone. White has a cap-hit of about $2.5 million for the 2010-11 season.

While many, including myself, suggested that Rozsival would be in this trade, it was just not meant to be.
