Sorry old timers, unfortunately it’s the year 2010 and everything’s going to hell.
Children are more disrespectful than ever, clothing companies rarely make jeans with zippers anymore, grown men are acting like prima donnas and social networking has taken the place of actual real-life conversation.
Nonetheless, social networking is actually a great way to connect with people from all over the globe.
If you’re a mixed martial arts fan, Twitter is the perfect place to communicate with your favorite fighters and yes they occasionally reply back (unless you’re a total creeper).
Let’s take a look at 30 MMA personalities you should be following on Twitter! Everyone from fighters to ring girls will be included.
Arianny Celeste
Normally you would think a woman that beautiful would be too stuck-up to acknowledge fans, but that’s not the case with Miss Celeste.
Arianny is a fairly down-to-earth, somewhat nerdy girl that loves to meet and greet with her supporters.
The UFC’s premier Octagon girl once sat on Facebook chat for over an hour just to talk to fans and I’m assuming she replied to almost everyone who contacted her within that time span.
Well she replied to me, at least, but maybe it’s just because I’m incredibly good looking?
Arianny tweets on a daily basis and also posts special pictures (like the headlining photo for this slideshow) through her Twitter page as well.
Hit her up sometime; you might not be as good looking as me but if you have a nice sense of humor she just might reply to you. Tell her that one joke you know!

Recent Sweet Tweet: "I work out,so I can eat like a fat kid on weekends!"
Miguel Torres
If Chuck Norris and Ralph Macchio had a kid, it would be Miguel Angel Torres.
When most fighters are drinking whey protein shakes in the morning, Torres is mixing up a smoothie consisting of lion’s blood and scorpion venom.
To put it simply, the former WEC bantamweight champion is on a much higher level of awesomeness than one can fathom.
Torres’ tweets are among the most entertaining blurbs ever posted on Twitter.
Instead of going into too much detail, here are a couple of examples of previous posts from Torres' Twitter account.
"Airport security asks what kind of mouth wash is in this bottle. I say the tequila kind. He says what. I say it’s ok, I'm Mexican."
“Cyborgs girlfriend wins. I wonder who will be the pitcher and who will catch tonight? Should be on National Geographic.”
”@OGOchoCinco listen son, this aint dancing wit the stars. Whenever you want to get your ankles broke, hit me up. Talk is cheap, whenever u want I will make you kiss the baby. You think your a Bengal, come earn ur stripes.”
Why aren’t you following this guy yet?
@MiguelTorresMMA (Twitter.com/migueltorresmma)
Recent Sweet Tweet: "I'm so hungry I could eat a lion’s ass [expletive] right now.”
Quinton "Rampage" Jackson
If there’s one thing that we’ve learned about Quinton Jackson over the years it’s that he loves his fans… almost as much as he loves Asian women, but that is a tale for a different slideshow.
It’s hard to imagine a ferocious knockout artist such as “Rampage” having a soft side, but the truth is he is one of the nicest guys in the entire sport.
He might not have the best grammar or spelling skills but, heck, that just makes his tweets all the more fun to read, so who am I to complain?
@rampage4real
Recent Sweet Tweet: "almost ready 2 sign the bout agreement! i would tell yall who im gonna get down with,but i cant spell his name....hahaha"
Ben Fowlkes
You might know Fowlkes as one of the top journalists in MMA but I know his true identity.
You see, during the day he might contribute quality articles to MMAFighting.com and UltimateFighter.com, but once the sun goes down, he takes on a different role as a masked vigilante crime fighter.
That’s right, Ben Fowlkes is the batman. He knocked out Bruce Wayne with a spinning ninja roundhouse kick and stole his identity. To the bat cave!
Follow Ben for breaking MMA updates and weekly columns.
@benfowlkesMMA
Recent Sweet Tweet: "Quit quoting lines from Shakespeare plays as if it was his official view on a subject. Does Scorsese believe everything his characters say?"
Kenda Perez
As the host of Spike TV’s “Best of Pride” series, Kenda Perez helps us remember the old PRIDE FC days better than anyone. A Maxim model AND a huge MMA fan? Can you say dream girl?
Hell, if Conner Cordova managed to convince Arianny Celeste to go to the prom with him, I’m sure I can sweet talk Perez into watching old PRIDE fights with me on the couch.
I’m getting carried away here, someone bring me a glass of water and dump it on my head.
Okay, as I was saying, Perez is extremely passionate about MMA, and she's always tweeting to her loyal followers.
@KendaPerez
Recent Sweet Tweet: "Scoop of chocolate peanut butter ice cream on top of a warm mini peanut butter cup chip cookie *HEAVEN*"
Shane Carwin
Despite submitting to Brock Lesnar at UFC 116 earlier this month, Carwin is still one of the most dangerous fighters in the heavyweight division.
If a bad ass knockout artist like Carwin is using Twitter everyday to connect with fans then social networking must not be as “unmanly” as some believe.
Carwin loves Titter almost as much as he loves knocking people out with his dinosaur-sized fists.
@ShaneCarwin
Recent Sweet Tweet: "my wife just said 'I'll fold the seats down in the Escalade and I'll drive you around like an injured whale.' I think that is true love."
Josh Koscheck
You’ve got to love Josh Koscheck. Actually, most MMA fans seem to hate him with a passion (especially Canadians) but that’s the brilliance of Koscheck.
He knows he isn’t exactly the most beloved fighter in the UFC and it doesn’t bother him at all.
In fact he embraces the villain role to a tee and is never shy in hyping up a fight. Koscheck just finished filming TUF season 12: Team St. Pierre vs. Team Koscheck, which is set to air on Spike TV this September.
Follow the TUF 12 coach to read his tweets heading into his December title bout with welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre.
@JoshKoscheck
Recent Sweet Tweet: "Life is not about the people who act true 2 ur face,it's about the people who remain true behind your back. #UFC #positweet"
Joe Rogan
There’s not much to say about Rogan other than the fact that he is the greatest color commentator in the entire sport and a brilliant comedian to boot.
The former “Fear Factor” host is a busy man, but that doesn’t stop him from tweeting updates to his loyal followers.
@joerogan
Recent Sweet Tweet: "Blazed to the gills and writing my book all day. If I really started going insane I'm not completely sure I would recognize it."
Tracy Lee
This brunette bombshell is easily one of the coolest girls in the MMA industry today. Founder of CombatLifestyle.com, Tracy Lee is constantly providing us with the best MMA-related photos on the internet.
She also posts hot bikini photos of herself and her gorgeous friends as well so you can’t go wrong following her.
Also be sure to check out her main website, mstracylee.com for more cool updates and photos.
@mstracylee
Recent Sweet Tweet: "Yes, but its with low calorie butter flavor syrup- no substitutions!RT @mitchciccarelli: @mstracylee If I vote for you, do I get pancakes?"
Jason "Mayhem" Miller
Whether it’s fighting in a cage, hosting MTV’s “Bully Beatdown” or writing an article for Fight! Magazine, “Mayhem” Miller never fails to entertain his beloved Mayhem Monkeys.
Recently Miller’s feud with Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz has been heating up so if you’re a fan of hilarious trash talking you should hurry up and click the follow button. “Mayhem” is not one to post boring tweets… the term boring is not in the man’s dictionary.
@mayhemmiller
Recent Sweet Tweet: "So now Nick Diaz is suddenly a 170-pounder only when he has to fight someone who can whip his ass? Not so gangster, is he?"
Tito Ortiz and Jenna Jameson
Controversy creates cash and there’s not a more controversial couple in MMA than Tito Ortiz and Jenna Jameson.
Love him or hate him, Ortiz has done more for this sport than you can even begin to imagine and he always makes time for his fans.
Heck, Ortiz even makes time to respond to his haters as well and isn’t shy to tell them how he really feels.
Regardless of how the former porn queen is perceived in the media, Jameson is actually a very friendly woman but much like her man she won’t hesitate to tell a hater to stick it where the sun doesn’t shine.
@titoortiz
Recent Sweet Tweet: "I dont pick the fights UFC does.Hamill has been on his own for 4years.I will fight anyone they put n front of me.I just want my title back."
@jennajameson
Recent Sweet Tweet: "I'm gonna defend my@titoortiz on the pic he posted of the lady at the airport. He was really into me when I was 189 pounds, pregnant!"
Rachelle Leah
So earlier in this slideshow I mentioned a potential plot to seduce Kenda Perez but seeing Rachelle Leah in that top is giving me second thoughts. Ah, decisions… decisions.
On a serious note though, Leah has been with the UFC for years as both an Octagon girl and television host.
She’s one of the hardest working ladies in the industry and despite all of her recent fame, she still remains down to earth and humble.
Leah currently serves as a co-host on “MMA Athletics,” a weekly web series, with Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer on FoxSports.com.
Oh and did I mention she posed for Playboy?
@Rachelle_Leah
Recent Sweet Tweet: "No I have never dated Diego or any other fighter for that matter. Ever."
Chuck Liddell
How’d you like to tell people you spoke to a UFC Hall of Famer and the greatest light heavyweight champion of all time?
Well, go ahead and follow Chuck Liddell on Twitter and maybe you can, after all, “The Iceman” is pretty good when it comes to replying to fans.
@ChuckLiddell
Recent Sweet Tweet: "@HeidiNorthcott & I are staying in Cork Ireland; off to the Blarney Castle right now it is very beautiful here"
Conner Cordova
Cordova went from being a dorky high school senior (no offense Conner) to an instant legend over night when he took Arianny Celeste to the prom.
Who can forget the classic YouTube videos that Cordova used to seduce Miss Celeste? He even managed to get big name fighters such as Georges St. Pierre, Miguel Torres and Frank Trigg to help him ask Arianny to prom.
Besides all the goofiness, Cordova comes from a strong family of martial artists and runs the website MMAReligion.com. Cordova might be the second best in the business when it comes to video interviews with fighters (first being Ariel Helwani).
@connercordova
Recent Sweet Tweet: "I can't imagine what would be scarier, fighting a bear, or having to make out with Joan rivers... actually the bear wins. Hands down"
Chael Sonnen
Heading into his UFC middleweight title bout with champion Anderson Silva, Sonnen has been doing an excellent job of promoting the fight.
The hard-nosed Republican has been delivering some of the most memorable one-liners and quotes in UFC history and some of his best statements have come in the form of tweets.
Now, whether or not this is Sonnen’s actual Twitter account is up for speculation. Sonnen has publicly denied having a Twitter page but he has also hinted in interviews that he does indeed post on Twitter. Nonetheless, real or not, this is a page you need to be following.
@sonnench
Recent Sweet Tweet: "Anderson just fired Ed Soares and replaced him with a Translation App he got on his phone for $14.95."
Michael "The Voice" Schiavello
“The Voice” calls the action for DREAM, K-1 and various other promotions internationally.
His excitement and pure knowledge of the sport set him apart from the rest and his ability to mix in hilarious one-liners into his commentary is second to only Joe Rogan.
Recently the Australian has been hosting sit down interviews with some of the sport’s biggest names on HD Net titled “The Voice vs”. So far he has interviewed both Rogan and “Mayhem” Miller for the show.
@schiavellovoice
Recent Sweet Tweet: "drinking powdered Green tea I got from Japan, looks like liquidated Shrek"
Bruce Buffer
Besides being the greatest ring announcer in the history of MMA, Buffer is also an avid poker player and from what I’ve gathered, he’s quite good.
In fact, he recently earned the top prize at a Grand Slam Poker event. Follow his tweets to learn more about this MMA icon.
@brucebuffer
Recent Sweet Tweet: "@StitchDuran Are you releasing another sex tape Stitch??? LOL!"
Urijah Faber
“The California Kid” is one of the most popular fighters on the planet but that doesn’t stop him from speaking to as many fans as possible.
Granted, with his busy schedule, it’s tough to reply to everyone but the former WEC featherweight champ does his best to interact with his supporters.
Even if Faber isn’t replying directly to fans, he’s tweeting stories and pictures to keep his fans updated on what he’s been up to.
@urijahfaber
Recent Sweet Tweet: "Master Thong big timing at AM practice. @joeb135 with another fashion statement. http://twitpic.com/2a2dtx http://twitpic.com/2a2du0"
Ariel Helwani
Before Helwani came along, the name Ariel was associated with a beautiful busty mermaid that lived under the sea.
Now thanks to Helwani every time I watch “The Little Mermaid” I think about grown men fighting each other in a cage… thanks for ruining my fantasy, Helwani!
When it comes to MMA journalism, few can match Helwani’s level. He’s one of the, if not the, best reporters covering the sport today.
By following Helwani, you will constantly receive updates on MMA scoops and video interviews.
@arielhelwani
Recent Sweet Tweet: "All video interviews shot today are up on Versus.com...except Okami. For some reason, he doesn't want 2 show up. Even his vids are elusive."
B.J Penn
The former lightweight champion of the world has developed a social network of his own on his website, bjpenn.com.
Penn’s always publishing cool MMA updates through his site and streaming the very same posts on Twitter.
His site has become so trendy that CNN actually used the live feed from bjpenn.com of the tsunami watch in Hilo, Hawaii.
Watch out CNN correspondents, “The Prodigy” could take your job at any moment if he wanted to.
@bjpenndotcom
Recent Sweet Tweet: "Checking out "MMA came to the American public on the narrow shoulders of Royce Gracie as Brazilian" on BJPENN.COM: http://ning.it/cpmlPD"
Kenny Florian and ESPN MMA Live Crew
Aside from being one of the top lightweight fighters in the world, Florian is also an excellent analyst of the sport. On ESPN 2, Florian hosts a 30-minute MMA program called “MMA Live” similar to “Sports Center” with reporter’s Jon Anik and Franklin McNeil.
You can follow the entire team on Twitter for breaking MMA news updates. Sometimes you can even read Florian engage in tweet battles with his brother Keith (@keithflorian) and teammate Kurt Pellegrino (@kurtpellegrino).
@kenny_florian
Recent Sweet Tweet: "Only baby cows should be drinking cow milk. Alternatives that I use are hemp milk, almond milk & rice milk. Still feel like crap."
@Jon_Anik
Recent Sweet Tweet: "Vintage Miletich. RT @patmiletich: Toney is hurting for money bad enough to get dumped on his face and mauled like a groundhog by a grizzly."
@Franklin_McNeil
Recent Sweet Tweet: "I tried to get Silva to respond to Sonnen's harsh comments. He and manager Ed Soares say they will take care of business on fight night."
Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal
“King Mo” might be the undisputed king of the Strikeforce light heavyweight division but he is also developing into royalty on Twitter. Lawal responds to more tweets from fans than any other fighter in the industry and he doesn’t hesitate to voice his opinion on certain controversial topics either.
@KingMO_GDP
Recent Sweet Tweet: "The day there is one major MMA org is the day the fans get robbed...yall will get hustled and tricked"
James Toney
Technically Toney isn’t an “MMA personality”. Yes, he’s under contract with the UFC and set to square off with Randy Couture at UFC 118 but he’s a boxer first and foremost.
The reason I am including “Lights Out” in this slideshow is purely because the trash talking tweets he’s been sending to Couture recently are pure comedy gold.
One is simply not enough so I will post a couple of Toney’s twitter posts for kicks and giggles.
“All u fans talking sh** about me 00100 fo yall n fans who love me I promise u ama knock Randy Couture teeth out if he has one. Lights out.”
“Tune in august 28 James lights out Toney d one n d only comin at ya UFC 118. Am d best heavywight Eva leeved period.U hate on me come see me”
@James_Toney
Recent sweet tweet: “@Randy_Couture good evening princess yall got d media behind u sayin this n that igot worriors behind me real fighters they comin at ya.”
Frankie Edgar
Frankie Edgar makes me proud to have grown up on the East Coast. While the media tries to perceive us all as meat-heads with gel in our hair on garbage reality shows like “Jersey Shore”, Edgar is going out to the Octagon and fighting like a true warrior.
The newly crowned lightweight champion is currently preparing to defend his title against B.J Penn at UFC 118. Check out “The Answer” on Twitter to follow along on his path to the rematch with “The Prodigy”.
@frankieedgar
Recent sweet tweet: "Summer traffic in Jersey Sucks!! http://tweetphoto.com/33493925"
Wanderlei Silva
Nobody loves their fans more than “The Axe Murderer”. The Brazilian MMA legend doesn’t speak fluent English but that’s not stopping him from tweeting to as many fans as he can muster.
Even if we can’t fully understand what he is saying half the time, it’s the thought that counts.
“You now the real friends just after you need , after this problem I now how is my real Friends , and my real fas Thais I never goin to ...”
If you aren’t a fan of Wanderlei Silva then you must not have a heart. Silva cares more about the fans than anything else in this business.
@wandfc
Recent sweet tweet: "I will post more messages. I am sorry. I am learning to use Twitter and will reply to you."
Dana White
With over 1 million followers, UFC President Dana White is perhaps the most active MMA personality on Twitter. White replies to everyone he possibly can and also gives out free tickets to UFC fights via his Twitter account.
Out of everyone listed on this slideshow, White is the man you absolutely should be following if you’re on Twitter. And if you don’t have an account sign up now and follow Mr. White, I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
@danawhite
Recent sweet tweet: "I will meet you guys @daveandbusters after the weigh ins I will have tix in my section but u have to beat me at video games to get em"

More Hot Babes
MMA is home to some of the world’s most beautiful women. They look good but they also work extremely hard to get where they are. These girls are very intelligent and down to earth for the most part. Did I mention they are also drop dead gorgeous too?
Let’s take a look at a couple more lovely MMA ladies you should be following.
@erinjad3 (Erin Jade: Model and W-1 ring girl)
@brittneypalmer (Brittney Palmer: WEC ring girl)
@natashawicks (Natasha Wicks: Former UFC Octagon girl)

The Mitch Ciccarelli
Who’s that handsome stud? Wait a minute I think I know that guy! He’s that one MMA writer that chokes out bengal tigers and knocks out silverbacks on a daily basis, right?
I’d hurry up and follow him if I were you before he starts tossing oompa loompas at your head.
@mitchciccarelli (Mitch Ciccarelli)
