As Mixed Martial Arts continues to gain mainstream acceptance, there have been a few shows that have popped up as of late highlighting our beloved sport.
The best one to come out of the woodwork has to be ESPN's MMA Live. The fact that it's on the world's leading sports network makes this show even sweeter.
If you're an MMA fan then you need to get in on this and now. Still not convinced?
Here are five basic reasons why.
5. It's on every week
MMA Live airs towards the end of each week so that you're able to get up to date with the latest happenings just before that weekend's particular card.
Don't have the time to commit to watching the show when it airs? No problem. Set up your DVR to record it.
4. Host Jon Anik keeps the pace of the show fun and entertaining
With his smooth delivery and personable style, Anik is a great part of the show, and makes it worth watching.
3. The MMA community embraces the show
Each week we are treated to various members of MMA Athletes stopping by to appear on the show.
In fact Jon Anik is not all alone out there, he's often joined at the news desk by the likes of Rashad Evans, Stephan Bonnar, and Miguel Torres.
Having these guys throw on a suit and interview their fellow brothers & sisters of the cage is actually quite entertaining. It almost feels like they are having a party and we just get invited every week.
2. The Production Quality Is Excellent
Due to the show being an ESPN production, it's pretty easy to see why this show beats out any others when it comes to it's look and feel.
With the familiarity of Sports Center, it makes it pretty easy for the casual sports fan to slowly migrate into MMA.
1. It Signifies How Far MMA Has Come
Amazingly, during the early days of the MMA, the only way you could find out anything about the sport was through the internet, or a pirated video.
It was in the abyss, the black sheep. Today, the pace at which Mixed Martial Arts has grown is at light speed.
However, the sport cannot continue without our support. So with this I beg you to watch and or DVR this show. Tell your friends about it, make it a family event.
The higher the ratings, the higher the chances that shows like this will continue to pop up.
