According to the official Twitter page of the San Jose Sharks, the organization has re-signed restricted free agent right wing Devin Setoguchi to a one-year deal. James Mirtle of The Globe and Mail has reported that he will earn $1.8 million.
Setoguchi, the eighth overall pick in the 2005 entry draft, has posted 118 points in 195 career games.
Last season, the 23-year-old was tied for fourth on the team with 20 goals.
Sharks general manager Doug Wilson is looking forward to next season with the speedy right winger.
"We're happy to have Devin under contract for next season. He is an important part of our team and we are looking forward to his on-going growth as a player. We have very high expectations for him."
Although it's only a one-year deal, the price tag for Setoguchi is awfully low for such a young, talented player. If his production keeps increasing as expected, look for his price to increase next season.
