Less than 24

AlexAnalyst IJune 1, 2016

There are now less that 24 hours until the trade deadline, and things are starting to heat up. According to Jayson Stark of ESPN.com, the Twins are trying to trade Boof Bonser for some type of middle relief or right-handed bat.

LaTroy Hawkins also looks like an easy target if the Twins really want him. The Tigers today made a trade with the Yankees sending catcher Ivan Rodriguez to New York for Kyle Farnsworth. They were said to be the team's competition for Hawk, so if the Twins want him, it looks like they should be able to make some sort of deal.

The biggest news today is none of these things however. It's the fact that Jayson Stark is reporting that the Twins are talking with the Giants and trying to acquire Rich Aurilia for a middle-tier prospect. This might be an effort to replace Casilla in the lineup.

Stay tuned...

UPDATE 7:30: LaTroy is headed to Houston for a low-level minor leaguer, so you can cross that name off the list. Also, the Rangers are interested in Bonser (we thought they, Kansas City or the Pirates might have interest).
