Day 1 of X Games 16 started out with a bang.

Travis Pastrana didn't pull out his double back flip, but still managed to take home his seventh gold medal in Moto X freestyle.

Pastrana pulled away from the competition with dynamic by far the most effective wallride on his first run.

Elsewhere, Ryan Sheckler rebounded from his early exit last year by topping the competition in the Skate Street Elimination. The finals will be held Saturday afternoon.

Here's a quick look at what's on tap for Friday in Los Angeles.
