This season in the National League there have been a number of rookies that have made big impacts. I will list the top five rookies in the NL, and will be making my pick for NL Rookie of The Year.

Jason Heyward: Braves OF Jason Heyward started the first month of the season on fire, and came out of the gates as the favorite for the NL Rookie of The Year after the first month. Since then, Heyward has cooled down. That's why it's called Rookie of The Year.

As of late though, Heyward has been stroking the ball. Heyward came into the season as the Braves starting right fielder after being drafted in the first round with the 14th pick in the 2007 draft.

Heyward went on the DL on June 28 with a bruised thumb. This season Heyward is batting .276 with 11 home runs, 48 RBI, and is slugging .459.

Heyward is a worthy candidate for Rookie of The Year, we'll just have to see how he finishes the season in the ATL.
