Credit goes to Canucks General Manager Mike Gillis for working feverishly to re-sign young skilled offensive speedster Mason Raymond.
Deal breaks down to
Year 1: 2.5mil
Year 2: 2.6mil
5.1mil/2-years.
JP Barry was apparently less concerned with the salary figure as he emphasized he wanted a 2-year term, which will bring Mason Raymond into Free Agency. UFA when he is 26.
Mike Gillis now has one of the cheapest and versatile secondary scoring lines in the NHL. Raymond is 2.55mil, Burrows is at 2.00mil, Samuelsson is 2.5mil. Kesler is 5.0mil and Sedins at 6.1mil each.
Great signing by Mike Gillis. He flew in from Vancouver Saturday to negotiate with JP Barry and Raymond. Right before the arbitration hearing began this morning, Gillis came to agreement with Mason Raymond on this 2-year contract extension.
