Now that Matt Garza has provided us with the fifth no-hitter of the season we might as well rank the great performances we have seen. It is apparent the steroid-era in baseball is over.

Honorable Mention - Armando Galarraga - June 2, 2010

In the official record books his name will never appear. Although Bud Selig will not reverse the blown call made by Umpire Jim Joyce the world saw the almost perfect game thrown by Armando Galarraga.

5. Edwin Jackson - June 26, 2010

Edwin Jackson completed his no-hitter despite walking eight batters, hitting a batter, and launching a wild pitch. To top it all off he threw it against his former team the Tampa Bay Rays beating them 1-0.

4. Ubaldo Jimenez - April 17, 2010

Jimenez pitched the first no-hitter in the Rockies’ 18-year history and the first no-hitter of the season. He allowed six walks but was able to still pull through and lead the Rockies to a 4-0 win over the Braves in his third start of the season.

3. Matt Garza - July 26, 2010

Out of the three games the Tampa Bay Rays were involved in on this list, at least this is one they can be proud of.

Matt Garza threw the first no-hitter in Tampa Bay Rays history as they beat the Detroit Tigers 5-0. Garza completed the fifth no-hitter in Major League Baseball this year.

2. Roy Halladay - May 29, 2010

Roy Halladay retired three consecutive pinch-hitters in the ninth inning to complete his perfect game against the Marlins. 12 years prior in his second major league start he came was one out away from pitching a no-hitter. It was Sept. 27, 1998 when Tigers pinch-hitter Bobby Higginson hit a home run on the first pitch Halladay threw to him.

Which pitcher's outing beat a perfect game 12 years in the making?

1. Dallas Braden - May 9, 2010

A perfect game on Mothers Day.

The only thing that made Dallas Braden's no-hitter more special for him was having his grandmother Peggy Lindsey in attendance. He was raised by a single mother, Jodie Atwood in Stockton, California until she lost her battle with skin cancer while he was in high school.

"It's a more important day for my grandmother than anything," Braden said. "That's the biggest thing to be able to give her something like this on a day of this magnitude, considering everything we've been through together. It's more about her for me."

Not only was it a perfect game in the books, it was a perfect day for Dallas and his grandmother, a perfect Mothers Day.
