Ivan Rodriguez Traded to the Bronx

Well, the Yankees have found their new catcher for the rest of the year. Ivan Rodriguez was just dealt to the New York Yankees, according to ESPN.com and ESPNEWS. The terms of the deal are unknown.

According to Cot's Baseball Contracts, Rodriguez was in the final year of his contract. He was owed $13 million this season. He has about $4 million left on his contract. More than likely, the Yankees are picking up all of his remaining money.

UPDATED: Buster Olney and Jayson Stark of ESPN are both reporting that this is a straight up 1-for-1 deal. Going to New York, obviously, is Rodriguez, but the player going to Detroit may shock you. Kyle Farnsworth is going back to Detroit in exchange for the catcher.
