This is the first of two slideshows I'll make about the future of the WWE. With some top WWE veterans retiring soon, the WWE needs to look for new talent.
In this slideshow I will look at RAW! talent and who I think should be main-eventers in the next few years. These are the people I believe are able to replace big names like HHH and Edge in the next few years. Enjoy!
Honorable Mention: Ezekial Jackson
Big 'Zeke Jackson will go down in WWE history as the last ever ECW Champion, hopefully, yet he has had maybe two matches since ECW ended. I know he is/was injured, and his father died, but the WWE had a month or so to do something with him before he got injured, so why didn't they use him? Let's hope when Zeke comes back he'll be built up as a monster heel.
5. Ted DiBiase
The Million Dollar Champion Ted DiBiase was one-third of The Legacy less than half a year ago, but is now making a name for himself as a singles competitor. His current feud with John Morrison is getting quite good, and could even be a good feud to bring Melina back with. DiBiase is a great wrestler, and I could see him feuding with numerous top faces, such as Cena and Orton.
4. Wade Barrett
Finally the WWE is pushing a Brit! This is the only real reason I wanted Barrett to win NXT. Since then, he's risen up and is currently, with his gang, in a feud with Cena that will culminate in a match next month at SummerSlam.
His mic skills are great, his wrestling style fits his character perfectly, and he's someone that Cena haters can love. If he doesn't win the WWE title in the next couple of years, I will be extremely disappointed.
(Writer's Note: Didn't he have a title match given to him for winning NXT? I know Bret Hart took it away but shouldn't he have regained it when he got a contract?)
Honorable Mention: Vladamir Kozlov
Remember when Kozlov feuded with Triple H for the WWE Championship? No? Well it was only two years ago. How far has Kozlov fell since then? He used to be great, now he's one half of the comic relief tag team of RAW.
I hope Kozlov gets another title shot, even if it's just US Champ, because he really needs something to get him out of the pit WWE so kindly dropped him in!
3. John Morrison
John Morrison was all set to become WWE Champ at Elimination Chamber. If only he could keep his mouth shut! With inside reports that JoMo was either going to win MitB at WrestleMania or Elimination Chamber due to Shawn Michaels and Triple H liking him, the sky was the limit for this young superstar.
Unfortunately, after some comments he made about Cena winning championships as being boring, he was pushed back to the mid-card and into a hopeless tag team with R-Truth. He's a former IC, ECW, and Tag Team Champ, and it's easy to see why.
He has a lot of fans in the WWE and hopefully he can become a World Champ, although I only see it happening if he turns heel again.
(Writer's Note: Although I think The Miz deserves the MitB contract, no one can deny Morrison was the best performer in that match)
2. Evan Bourne
The high-flyer Evan Bourne has had a massive push recently. He's gone from jobber to semi-main-eventer in a month! He's fought with Cena and Orton against Sheamus and Edge, and is currently feuding with Chris Jericho for some reason.
Whatever the reason, this recent feud with such a huge star will surely elevate him to the top. While some people wanted him to win the RAW MitB match, I didn't. The sole reason being that he has a good push going now, and he deserves to get a title match through his own wrestling ability rather than a contract.
Evan is a perfect replacement for Mysterio, and I can't wait to see how his push turns out.
1. The Miz
The Awesome One, Mike Mizanin, won the RAW MitB match to the delight of many. I always thought The Miz would win due to his skill, his dedication, and the fact he's got nothing else going at the moment.
His promo at the end of the match was reminiscent of Shad's "My Tyme" promos, except this one is going somewhere. The Miz will be pushed wholeheartedly to the top of the WWE, and in my opinion it's a great thing.
Since his tag team with Morrison, The Miz has always been a great heel. You can see that if you've ever watched "The Dirt Sheet." He's great on the mic, a well-hated heel, and someone everyone can hate.
The Miz really should have gotten rid of the US Title long ago and gone in search of real gold like his former US Title competitors Jack Swagger and Kofi Kingston. While their pushes ended rather abruptly, I think The Miz will be a great main eventer, and could become one of RAW's top heels!
The tears of joy that Mike shed at the end of the MitB match were because he loves the WWE, and it's great that someone deserving is getting a push.
