The Niners have not won the NFC West in eight years, and have not won a superbowl since 1994. This may be the year to update the championship banners in San Francisco. With the right mix of young superstars and smart veterans, this years team shows the promise, and has the talent, needed to bring some hardware back to the Bay.

Thank you for reading and enjoy!

Their QB: Alex Smith

The number one overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft had his best year during the 2009 season. He only played in 11 games, but had 18 touchdown passes on a team where passing is a second option. Look for him to be a leader of his team now that he is considered a veteran.

Their Running Back: Frank Gore

The two time Pro Bowler has had over 1,000 yards each of his last four seasons and shows no signs of slowing down.

Michael Robinson can be used in a wildcat formation because of his throwing ability that hegained from being a quarterback at Penn State University.

Their Recieving Core and Tight End

Michael Crabtree is ready for his first full season in the NFL. He played very well in the few games he played in last year.

Vernon Davis is the fastest and most talented tight end in the league. He made his first Pro Bowl last year and will definately make it again this year and in many years to come

Their Linebackers

Patrick Willis is a complete monster and he is the best linebacker in the game. He won almost every defensive award last year.

Takeo Spikes is a great middle linebacker in a 3-4 set and acts as a role model/mentor to Patrick Willis

Their Secondary

Dashon Goldson, Michael Lewis, Shawntae Spencer, Nate Clements, Tarell Brown, Reggie Smith, and the gang are all young, great, defensive backs who work well together and do not allow many catches or touchdowns. With the best linebackers in the league gobbling up all the runs, and this secondary shutting down passes, this defense should be one of the best in the league.

Rookie Taylor Mays should be an impact from week one.
