As we all know, when it comes to assessing the top prospects in France, there is no better judge of Ligue 1 talent than Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

He has brought the likes of Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri and Robert Pires to the Premier League over the last decade, and the place is a whole lot better because of them.

Could Kevin Gameiro be the next potential superstar to be plucked from the French backwaters?

The player is full of confidence on the back of his best ever season, in which he scored seventeen goals and provided six assists

This would be the right time for the former French Under-21 international to take the next step and improve into a world-class player.

Arsenal would be the perfect fit for him too, because as we said there not many better than developing a player than Wenger.

Gameiro, would be a success at the Emirates because of his versatility. He is able to play out on either flank, off the striker or as the target man.

This FC Lorient man was the top-scorer in Ligue 1 last term, and is on the verge on earning full international honours. That opportunity may arise as soon as August, when Laurent Blanc takes charge for the first time against Norway.

He is the type of player that could become very good, very quickly. He isn't a rough diamond any more and has turned into one of the better strikers in France.

Milan are also interested, but his game would be suited better to the pace and physical nature of the Premier League.

So don't be surprised if Gameiro follows his former Lorient team-mate Laurent Koscielny to the North London in the near future.
