5 Things I Would Change If I Ran TNA

Ever since January 4th, 2010 the TNA Impact! landscape has changed from the TNA we once new and loved. Things started out shaky, but now they are slowly getting better. Some things still need to be improved and I think if Dixie did this then Impact! would be a better show all around. I hope that someday TNA will finally be able to compete with WWE, and a new rivalry will be started that will take wrestling to a higher level than the Attitude Era. Even though that is improbable we can dream can't we?
Either Fire Vince Russo or Give Him a Partner (A.K.A. A Filter)
Now Vince Russo is know as two things: The man that helped WWF/E's rise to fame, and the man that "killed" WCW. Obviously one of those is more prestigious than the other. The reason he had so much more success in the WWE is because Vince was able to filter out some of the more ridiculous ideas he had and gave much more creative insight. If I were Dixie or Hogan or whoever I would try to keep Russo and try to find another experienced person to team with him and Matt Conway to create a trio of terror now that Ed Ferrera left. Paul Heyman? Maybe. Or even somebody who is not afraid to speak up against the two of them.
Feuds need to be longer than a couple of weeks
It's been awhile since we have seen a meaningful feud in TNA , but we can see TNA is beginning to improve upon this by giving their feuds their own time to develop. They should be focusing on some more promos though, because we haven't seen as many of those as we used to back when TNA was awesome. I would also focus on giving time to matches allowing them to show how great these men in the ring actually are. The bigger up here is an example of how great matches make or break a feud. To this date Angle and Joe are still know for their various matches which test who could pull out their main submission first. This made us wonder who is truly the better man, and this is one of the things that made me love Impact!
Hogan and Nash should be used less to push the other talent
Remember the days of the NWO? Their backstage politicing made them some of the most hated people in the backstage area. Even now in TNA we see them pulling managements strings by giving themselves more air time than all of the other stars who can still give matches that we still want to see wrestle for their ability. Even though adding them to the company does add some credibility to the company they should not go crazy over the fact they have two guys out of their prime over 50. If I were management I would set them straight and say "look guys you had great careers, but it is time to tutor the young and give them the fruits of your knowledge"
This is TNA.NOT WCW,NOT ECW,NOT WWE SO PUSH THE PEOPLE WHO STOOD BY YOU!
Seriously guys it used to be Vince who had the problem of overusing old talent, but he's moved on. Now you guys have to trust those who helped make this company famous and give them an opportunity at the title. This roster has a bunch of young guys with talent that can contend for the title and return it to its former glory. I mean heres a short list Desmond Wolfe, DeAngelo Diniero, Ken Anderson, Hernandez, and even Abyss would be good if he had a lengthy and meaningful run. Kurt Angle and Rob Van Dam are both beginning to slow down and are putting up good shows with the younger talent. TNA should get ready, because when they are gone this will leave TNA in the hands of the younger talent. LISTEN TNA IT IS TIME TO GET A RUN ON A YOUNGER GUY!
The X Division Need a Renaissance
The TNA X Division has been one of the defining things that makes me want to watch the company, but with Douglas Willliams holding the title I have lost interest in the division that once had high flying spectacles and fast paced matches. What next will they give the title to Rob Terry? This company obviously has enough talent to help the division. If it were me I would put the title on an established competitor like Kaz, AJ, or even Rob Van Dam. Put these three in a feud over the X Division title and put it on the younger talent to help propel their career. Championships aren't just possessions. They should be tools used to propel careers and make people famous.
In Conclusion
There is a lot that needs to be changed with the direction of this company, but I feel that slowly management is beginning to understand this and they are working as hard as they can to change this company for the better. We can hope someday that they may become the major wrestling company in America. Dixie and Hogan may not be the best people for the job but improvements must come with time.
