Green Bay Packers tight end Tory Humphrey has gotten thumbs up and thumbs down reviews early in training camp.
Humphrey had one of the most head turning plays of the day on a catch from quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Tom Pelissero of the Green Bay Press-Gazette describes, "During an early team drill, Aaron Rodgers connected with tight end Tory Humphrey on an impressive looking completion over the middle in tight coverage. Rodgers lofted the ball just past the outstretched hands of linebacker Abdul Hodge and into Humphrey’s waiting arms."
But making fans cringe, Pelissero also reports, "Dropping 'em like they're hot: Tory Humphrey, Jermichael Finley."
This comes a day after Humphrey was noted for dropping passes on the first day of training camp.
Humphrey is in position to be the top backup to starter Donald Lee at tight end because of his experience. Although he has to prove he's worth it and can stay healthy.
If third round draft choice JerMichael Finley proves he's a capable second tight end, the Packers may cut Humphrey and decide to develop another more promising rookie as the third option. What Humphrey has to do is become more consistent, but he still has some time to make up for his drops.
